The longer im using Yosemite the more i really miss some great stuff SnowLeopard had! Apart from the Rotating (when used) TM icon on the manu bar, one other thing that really bugs me for being stopped was the Space Warp environment that Time Machine would appear in! WHy on earth did they stop that too? Don't tell me for lowering energy consumption! Really if the reason is lower energy consumption, then they could have it as an option to turn it on or off judging from what is needed at the time. For example, in a laptop environment this could be turned off by default!

I missed the rotating icon, because its a visual representation that the backup is running. I don't miss the time warp, but the icon was useful imo

Exactly right regarding the icon, i feel the same! Regarding the Time Warp maybe its not handy to see something like the icon but it gave you the feeling of going back into time. Now, its changed as if someone from Microsoft designed it! Without any concept at all!
A big crap if you ask me!
