I'm still on iOS 6.0 jailbroken iPhone 4 Tmo. Carrier firmware is 13.0
I'm having some weak signals and tricky hotspot starting up.
Will this Tmo carrier update 14.2 help? and will I have to update to iOS 6.13 and lose the jailbreak? I'm willing to do that since iOS 7 is gonna be jbreakable right away?

I don't believe the statement has been made that iOS7 will be jailbreakable right away. You might want to reconsider your plan if that's what you are basing it on.

Lots of incorrect information.

Carrier update can be updated without losing jailbreak.
Carrier update can be updated without updating to iOS 6.1.3
No one ever said that jailbreak will be available right away when iOS 7 is release.

Tmobile carrier updates on j/b iPhone 4 6.0

The OP has an iP4 which can be tethered jailbroken because of the limera1n exploit also on 6.1.3 or iOS 7.

But indeed a carrier update does nothing to your current ios version or jailbreak state, it just updates the carrier settings files

As far as I'm aware of, the T-Mobile carrier updates only push through if you're on iOS 6.1 or higher

Unless you do something with the commcenter patching and then install a carrier update package? (Not too sure there)

thanks, darricksallo, you were right. the other comments did not help. It would not do the latest 2 carrier updates while on iOS 6.00.
I went ahead and updated to 6.13, and then the carrier update took place easily. On 6.0 it did not say there was an update or not. iTunes said it would check, and then nothing.

I decided to do the redsnow tether jb. worked fine.
New carrier update or maybe iOs 6.13 fixed the hotspot glitches, but not the antennagate iphone 4 issue which is very real on Tmo with this iPhone.
