Hey all, I am really leaning to purchasing a new iMac but I have been hearing all sorts of stories from apple is doing away with the iMac line, and that there are new models coming out in Sept. Anyone have any info or thoughts on this. Thanx.

I would question anyone who said Apple are doing away with the iMac. If anything they look to be solidifying it's position as the mythical xmac (I know it's not a real one before it all starts) with 1tb drives, 8gb ram and 3 ghz processors. this was desktop fodder only recently.

if you need an imac now buy it and be really happy with a great computer, if you can wait 3-6 months then it might be worth it as the laptop lines have had recent price drops and these * could * happen to the iMac

As the others said above, if you need a machine now, just buy it as the current line is great.

If you can wait a few months, then defiantly wait as new Intel Processors are coming in Early 2010.

Thatd be a truly dumb move on Apple's part. Not something I envision them doing anytime soon

Thanx for the reassurance, I really love the way they're designed.
