Have you calibrated your Macbook Air screen? And if you have, have you noticed a good amount of difference in colour accuracy?

I have an 11-inch Macbook Air model... and I've attempted to calibrate it using the built-in calibration tools with OS X Lion... but to be honest, every time I do that, it just doesn't come out right. Sometimes it will be slightly bluer, sometimes colours will look nicer but less accurate, etc, etc. I'm no good at calibrating my monitor. I'm wondering if someone else has an LG display (or, heck, even a Samsung display), and has had success calibrating their 11-inch screen. I'm also wondering who (if anyone here) considers themselves an expert in this area of knowledge, and what their take is on the stock settings vs. calibrating the monitor.

try this

My graphics people tell me you should be squinting when you calibrate for best results. If you do this, then the apple in the middle really will disappear when you've found the "right" setting. Also, try picking a warmer white point.

"Color accuracy" is really just a construct. Doesn't exist in any easily definable way. Most of the time, the images your computer is reproducing are themselves distorted. You're not calibrating it to "reality" after all -- it's very hard (theoretically impossible, actually, though in practice we try) to compare a screen to "real" light. The important thing is to find a setting that doesn't look "wrong" and is easy on the eyes.
