"to go plan" with Credit Card from outside the USA...?

Hello, i hope somebody can help me....

Is it possible to pay for the "to go plan" with Credit Card from outside the USA...?

I'd like to buy a iPhone in the State during a trip and activate it when i come back to France. Does anyone knows if AT&T accept credit card from a foreign country (not USA) ? Especially with the Pick your Plan option ?

I tried a number of these options before going through regular activation - you need a US credit card / billing address in order to sign up to goPhone or even a regular plan.

Sucks, but there it is. I wish it wasn't that way, but they're really making it as difficult as possible. Funny, don't know too many companies who are so keen to stop international early adopters wasting their money or their own products.

Can one use a US bank account to debit? Or get a prepaid visa card?
 
Another way to try

And what if you have a billing adress in USA BUT a credit card (and bank account) from outside USA ? Will it work ?
Anyway, the aim is to have an iPhone with a prepaid plan with AT&T, and then to cancel the plan and keep the iPhone, no ? :)
 
i just activated my new Iphone with a canadian credit card!when ask to enter credit card info i tried enterring my canadian adresse, with no result so i decided to try my card with the US adress i gave , it was accepted, i now have a valid gophone acount

can you clarify how you made it?

Did you use a Canadian credit card with an US adress?
 
I don't think your foreign credit cards will work.

To le français: Ceci is how it can work, but it's cher (expensive)

You need to first go to an Apple store and get a GoPhone plan. Then you're going to need an iPhone. With the GoPhone plan & iPhone ,you'll then need to leave a deposit for at least $500 for security reasons and then upgrade your GoPhone service to have a Pay-as-You-Go iPhone plan.

I saw a Japanese kid do that at the ATT store today. It's expensive, but if you really want it, it's still possible.

Mind you, it will cost you "ton cul" to use the data/voice en France. (pardon my French ;)

But seriously, I would just wait until SFR, Orange, ou Bouygues Telecom gets it because then it will work.

On the other hand, there is alot of work being done on getting the iPhone unlocked so maybe it's best to get it after that's possible and then use it on one of the those 3 wireless carriers.

Actually, i know it would cost a lot to use the phone part in Europe. I just want to try the iPhone untill it is availiable in France. But God (Steve) only knows when :)
Then, i will buy an iPhone with a French carrier and sell my "old" iPhone.

If you buy it online, where are you going to have it delivered? They won't deliver en France. You should wait a couple of days from today....jcroi ke ça va être possible de le kéblodé :cool: If ya know what I mean ;)

Acutally, i have relatives living in L.A. So they can receive it if i order on line.
They could even activate it with there own credit card (and cancel it there after) but i preferred not to, in case of...
That's why i want to try to activate it with my french credit card.
By the way, would it be possible to activate it directly from France (without any AT&T signal) ? Even with a good credit card ?
And is it able to activate it in a computer (saying in the States) and to use it on another (saying in France :)) ?

I just tried to do it and got into problems.

I used 000-00-0000 as SSN, and activation waited for 3 minutes, then says it will take longer so wait for an email. Email came and asked me to call a 1-877 number. That number only deals with activation and cannot put me onto the prepaid plan. In the end, they patched me into customer service who couldn't help either, so they cancelled my activation so I can start again from scratch later.

Is there a difference in using "0" or "9"? :confused:
