This is my 1st iMac, a 2nd generation 27" Quad Core 2.8GHZ i5. My previous Mac is a 2007 MacBook Pro.

I know that iMacs run hot, but supposedly the new 5750 Graphics chip runs cooler.

From those of you with the same machine, I would like to know at what temp., does your HARD DRIVE run. My iMac runs cooler than my MacBook Pro except for the Hard drive.

My HARD DRIVE, with a relatively light load, no gaming, typically is running at a temp of about 130 F or about 55 C.

Other Temps: CPU=113F/45C, GPU Diode=138/59, Mem Controller=126/52.

Thanks

56c, which is actually about average for a mechanical HDD.
