Think I know the answer but is there a way of saving a password from an app, which has already been entered, to keychain ?

I entered the user/password last year but didn't save them to keychain and now don't know them. The app in question doesn't display either of them.

It’s up to how developer handles the login and how iOS interact with that app. Nowadays only some apps can login using keychain, while others can’t. Twitter, Google apps are examples that allow, while games, especially with their own unique interface, usually does not.

That app you mention may not have those features implemented, thus won’t accept keychain filling in. Fewer apps would accept saving entered login info to keychain, which I assume that App is not one of them.

I believe the answer is what you think it is. Hopefully the app required an email address so you can reset your password.

Yeah I don’t think there’s any way for keychain to extract a password from an app retroactively. I believe your only option in this case is to reset the password, assuming they give you that option and assuming you still have access to the email address registered with the app.
After reset, I suggest you write down the new password before you log into the app, in case the app doesn’t give you the option to save it to keychain. If so, then you could go into keychain and manually save the password, so that at least it’s saved somewhere safe and accessible.
