Someone help.

I have just got some new DVD-R media and for some reason toast will not burn at 4x only at 1x 2x. I am on a mac mini 1.25GHz 1G Ram. Anyone had this problem. Or are the DVD drives in Mac Mini just crap.?

Amaze me with your wisdom.

You'd be amazed how many people have problems with toast. This should clear things up. ;)

Seriously though, what is the make of the disks? Many times cheap disks don't work well, esp with Macs.

How many disks have you tried? If just one, it may be that just that one disk is bad, so try another.

Maybe you should burn a data disk though finder and see how fast that goes. If you get 4x, you probably can eliminate toast as the problem.

Well this is the make of the DVD-R . Link there not a brand name but they should work. I have tried about 4 disk with no luck. I will give Disk Utility ago.

Were the 4 disks that you tried of the same company? If so, I would try another brand. I use the TDK or Verbatim dvd-/+R disks and they all work great.
