Every time I instal and open Toast 7 (or Toast 6 Lite), it just sits in the dock without loading and then when I try to force quite it, it wont quite, so I have to manual restart the computer by pressing the power button!

What is happening here?

Sorry, I know it's obvious, but have you tried completely uninstalling the program from your Mac, then reinstalling, of course repairing permissions at that time? I have never had Toast do that for me, and I have been a paying user of both versions 6 and 7 for quite some time now.

Well, I draged it into the trash and emptied it whne I rebooted. As for reparing permissions? I have no idea how to do that.

You may want to do a system-wide check for any other Toast application files which may be installed on your machine, just in case.

As for repairing permissions, that is one of the most fundamental maintenance tasks you can do on your Mac - you should do it on a frequent basis regardless, and especially before installing any new updates or programs.

You can repair permissions by going to Applications->Utilities->Disk Utility and the selecting your drive and clicking on "Repair Permissions". You don't need to worry about "Verify Permissions".

Hope this helps.

I'm headed to bed. I'll run the stuff in the morning and let you knwo how it went.

Please do, I'm eager to find out what is causing this problem and how to go about fixing it....

I did two things and it worked just great.
1) I did a spotlight search for "Toast" and there was a preferance file still on the computer so I trashed that.
2) I did the "Repair Permissions".

Now.... it runs great, or at least it loads (I havent tried burning anything yet)

PS: I bought the Lacie DVD burner with Lightscribe.... Lightscribe is really sweet! I heard some on and off reviews of it, well it's AWESOME!

Great, glad to hear my recommendations worked for you. If you have any other questions, just let me know! (And yes, I can imagine Lightscribe is pretty sweet. )
