i had a spare ipad that was logged into my wifes icloud account i just wanted to use for a few apps and saw that photos were taking a large amount of space so i turned off icloud photos on it (thinbking it was the option to remove local photos) and didnt really pay attention to the messages that came up.
i then got nervous that ive gone and deleted all of her photos off of her own icloud so i looked at what the warning was on my phone and icloud when toggling and no merssage came up, it went straight to off! so i immediately turned it back on and it came up saying i now didnt have enough space left on my phone but eventually got past that, and now in my iphone storage section in settings, there is an "iCloud Photos" recommendation that says "save 105GB......." and there is a 1% circle next to it.
what exactly is my phone now doing?
in iPhone storage, it says my photos are taking up 108GB but that doesnt seem right. and i think that was the number that came up saying i was trying to back up that amount when i only had a smaller amount of icloud storage remaining and therefore didnt have enough space? I have the 200GB iCloud storage plan. my iCloud storage is showing my photos are taking up 67GB.
edit: just looked at the bottom of my library in my photos app and it says its uploading 12K photos?!? is that why it said i dont have enough icloud storage, because its now uploading every photo and video again from scratch?!?
