Does anyone know if the Tom Tom dock has an FM transmitter and if it would allow me to play the Sirius/XM app through my speakers? I was going to look for a car dock for my iphone but thought I should wait if that's what the Tom Tom dock will do.

I doubt the TomTom dock will work with anything else other than the actual TomTom iPhone app. I could be wrong though.
I'm hoping the dock will have an aux out port, cause thats how i listen to my iPhone in the car.

Now, I've been watching this pretty closely and this is the first I've heard of this feature (and there was nary a mention of it at the WWDC announcement), but this would certainly make it easier.
We already knew it had an enhanced GPS chip in it that the TomTom App will be relying on when the phone is connected (thank goodness since the GPS in the iPhone itself is pretty abysmal), and we also knew it was going to have a line-out for direct connection to stereos that have aux inputs. But if it will have a built-in FM transmitter as well, that's just gravy.
When oh when are they going to release this friggin' thing?!!

Not so quick, he didn't say that. Remember, it has an audio-out jack on the cradle that can be used to connect to a car stereo. You can't definitively say that there is FM which conflicts with the about.com article. The fact that it has its own built-in speaker leads me to believe that they didn't put an FM transmitter into it and give the option of connecting it with an audio cable. There's a lot of marketing-speak and obscurity involved in the announcement and TomTom press-release text. I wouldn't put a lot of faith in too much extra in the dock.
Yeah, I tend to agree with this. If there were an FM Transmitter in addition to the Line-out, I think they'd have mentioned it at the WWDC announcement. That said, there is some evidence that it does have one built-in (see above post and link). If it does, this dock/mount is shaping up to be one of the most full-featured ones out there (although, I'm guessing that only the TomTom App will be able to make use of the built-in gps chip).
I can't wait for this to be released.

I honestly think that information is a mistake. That link is to a vendor for product that is listed as having no date of availability or price. Somehow this vendor managed to add one description item that is not listed anywhere else and somehow there are no other vendors who have this product listed. I don't think this one place has inside information that doesn't even exist on the TomTom site. I think someone is making a guess that it has an FM transmitter based on their interpretation of the WWDC video.
This smells to me like the Chinese accessory sites a few months ago listing cases for the iPhone Nano.
I'm one who is hoping for an FM transmitter. I just bought one for my car and it's ages above what a cassette adaptor offers.
It honestly sounds better then my iHome.
I don't know if it will have an FM transmitter. I submitted an email to their site on Friday. We'll see on Monday if they will even answer my question. (Doubt they'll tell me anything, but I'm used to dealing w/ Apple. Maybe TomTom will be different...)

That's not true.
Charging from 88% to 100% 5 times is the same as charging from 40%-100% once with a lithium-ion battery.
There's no reason not to charge it whenever.
You'll be able to use it without plugging it in just like you can use Maps without being on external power. Remember, in the video, he defined the dock as an optional accessory BUT using the GPS function for Navigation will kill your battery very quickly without being on external power. It's the same way with the Maps application and that's using less processor power because it doesn't have to tie audio cues to the map function. Any time you're using GPS you're going to go through the battery rapidly.

I've looked around a lot for info on this thing, and this site is the most comprehensive. Very specific info on the cradle, NO FM, aux out is what he was referring to when he said "and yes it will play your music on your car stereo."

I'm not sure it's necessarily tied to the GPS that kills the battery but rather having the screen (& backlight) on that kills the battery. I've used the GPS constantly for two hours (with screen off) and still had more than half battery remaining. (using RunKeeper to track where I was cycling, it needs the GPS running but can lock off the screen). Backlights are the big battery killers (just turn your screen brightness down and notice the improved battery life).
