Tom Tom owners question

Hi all,

Thinking of buying the Tom Tom app and cradle. My worry is, what happens when you take a call on the phone. Does the Tom Tom still continue to display and give instructions?

The TomTom app will stop when you receive a phone call.

The TomTom app will stop for the phone call and once the phone call is over the app will resume.

If you are going to be on a long call there is a work around by pushing the iPhone home button and starting the TomTom app again. That way you will continue to be on the phone call while the TomTom app navigates your way.

no guarantee, but i'd guess they'll all (TomTom, Navigon, maybe not Magellan - already discounted) go through another round of discounted pricing either right before or after Xmas - w/ the latest being early Jan ... w/ all the gift cards out there, they'll be vying for attention

good work around, I discovered this yesterday while using my bluetooth earpiece ... although it did get a little disruptive w/ my call and the voice prompts coming through the earpiece at the same time. but i'll take it. (w/ Navigon)

totally off thread topic, but i wonder what Google Maps Nav does when a call comes in - i'm sure interrupts navigation, but is there a work around? ... based on the recent Ad Wars, can you take a call and still get "cloud based" nav and mapping?

does anyone know? ... may have to wander off to another thread for this

The same - the app stops and all you see on the screen is the photo of the person who is calling you. The sound still comes through you car kit though. As soon as the call is finished, the app resumes. Annoying, yes. A deal breaker, not really.

Does the 'work around' work w/ the bluetooth car kit ... in other words when the call comes in, can you hit the home button, answer the call, then go back into the TomTom Nav app to resume navigation guidance while on the call? i can't see why not ...
