Hey everyone,

I THOUGHT I had an account to these forums because I'm always here getting excellent info for my Mac but I guess I didn't. I do now, and hope I can continue to get killer info from everyone.

Anyways, I recently acquired Tomb Raider Anniversary and using the keyboard/mouse is a pain. I have a PS3 and grabbed a remote and plugged it in, downloaded the third party driver to get my Macbook to read it, restarted and then jumped into the game.

I went in and enabled the controller in the game and started the game. I was amazed because the game recognized the controller as a PS3 Controller so I knew I was getting somewhere. My first impression was great because my fingers were on the sticks and I found I was able to move with the left stick and turn with the right....sick. However, then I noticed that the "X" button (in all TR games, "X" was always jump) didn't jump but walked backwards. The "Triangle" button walked forwards. Weird. Then I started hitting all the other buttons. One of the weird obscure buttons fired, but oddly enough, most of the buttons did nothing. I tried going in and adjusting the buttons but can't seem to get anything to work. Is there any way to map the controller properly?

Has anyone else out there tried this and can anyone get this to work? I really don't want to go out and spend the $$$ if I already have 4 PS3 controllers in my house that work perfectly fine.

If anyone has any info on this I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Nevermind, found it. I'll try this out when I go home today. Thanks for the help.

Gamepad companion might not be a good solution and it will override any gamepad support in the game. Gamepad companion just maps keyboard moves onto a pad so I am very dubious if it will work well especially with the analogue sticks but I have not tried myself.

The good news is we spent some time getting the XBOX360 pads (and open source driver) working on BioShock (our latest game) and I have plans to try and get native support for the PS3 pads as well in our games but as the drivers on Mac are open source and unofficial the support will be done in between other tasks.

Please let me know how you go and if you PM me I can keep your contact details for when we get a native solution in beta ready for testing.

Ok...no luck. Has anyone accomplished this and got it to work? I went into the game and wrote down what all the buttons on the keyboard do, went into gamepad companion and with the ps3 remote, i pressed each button (ex. "X" I pushed and then went to action and hit "space" so I can use "X" as jump.) and did it for all of them. Then went into the game, made sure it was set up for my ps3 controller, and it was still doing the wrong buttons. Did I do something wrong?

edddeduck,
