I am not a developer but I find it hard to believe that
TomTom is already the #4 paid navigation app in the
US store. It hasn't even been out for 24 hours.
How is this possible? Has it really been purchased/download that many times?
Or is Apple giving TomTom Special treatment?

Is it top paid in terms of money or downloads(cause
TomTom is way too expensive btw imho!)

It does make sense since this was the most hyped GPS app for the iPhone. I'm not surprised, although I do wish that it was cheaper as well.

People have been waiting for this for a long time, I am sure to most the price is worth it to now have two devices, become one (even though the iPhone is like 12 devices already :p) So IMO it is very reasonable for it to be the 4th top app!

As said, this was highly anticipated. Because you do not see the benefit of it because either you don't drive, don't care about GPS in general, or you've never used a cheap GPS, this is something people have been waiting and probably saving for. I find the price to be quite handsome all things considering.

I agree, this app shouldn't be more than $49.99 in my opinion. But it looks like they are getting the $100 for it so good for them....thanks for ripping us all off TomTom.

Its actually number 2 right now.

And they are basically living out their name. It so overpriced, just like Apple products, but since its Apple, people will still buy it.

I would love to see how long this app will stay on the top 5, given the price and competition. It would have been nice if Tom Tom came out first and then have to drop their price to match Navigon...

Its high right now because so many people have been waiting for its release and are buying it up... Give everyone a chance to buy it and it will slowly lower in rank...

I always assumed it was counted on a weekly or monthly basis, not lifetime. So we can see what's hot right now, etc.

That or when a new version comes out the counter gets reset to zero.

I wish all the TomTom features are imported to Navigon because Navigon UI is. Great

And it's number 1 ^^
and 3!

Must be making rather a lot, considering the price of the app.
A lot more than the average.

here we go again... just shut up... if you think its overpriced just dont buy it... every1 knows apple is expensive, but what you get is more than worth the money... every1 who knows something about computer will agree... i cant tell if tomtom is overpriced, because i dont know how much all these licences etc... cost but i guess tomtom will lower the price as soon as they see it sell really well!

Last time I looked (last night), TomTom was #1 in Navigation and #38 in all paid apps. I have never seen Navigon that high (at least overall). I guess brand does pay a part in the sales, along with the anticipation from the keynote.
