Interesting, wonder how the subscription prices are going to work out..
i couldn't open the files the FCC released. a) whats a .cgi and b) does anyone want to put some of their photos up here?
Are you going to this page? TomTom FCC page
All of the files on this page are .pdf's
There is no subscription. You just purchase the app and the dock and that's it.
I am really considering this now especially since it works with any GPS app for the iPhone/iPod touch. I have the Navigon app for NA and love it!!
Something I haven't seen any discussion on is security. Most people don't leave their sat-navs in the car cos they'd be a target for break-ins. All they leave is the plastic frame. With this, the frame will be worth a fair bit. Will people supposed to remove it every time they leave their car?
People will break into cars if they see the suction cup's dirt rings on the windshield in hopes of finding the GPS tucked away. To not take the dock down would be like begging to have your car broken into.
I'm hoping that this can swivel so that the suction cup can face down. I use a Nav-Mat on the dash, which lets me easily toss it in the trunk while not disrupting the suction cup itself.
My dad has his TomTom stolen from his car while parked in central London. He was only popping out for a couple of minutes to get a coffee and when he came back the window was broken. Broad daylight too. Always pack it away, lesson learned the hard way I guess.
