I already have an iPhone and i have used the TomTom navigation application extensively. I'm curious to know, has anyone tried the iPhone car kit with the iPod touch? As far as I can tell, they look the same except the iPhone model costs more.

And yes I already own the iPhone car kit, but do not own an iPod touch.

I believe they don't work - so your stuck with the iPhone dock on the iPhone and vice versa. No idea why!

Confirmed answer is 'No' ... the mount is too big to hold iPod Touch, and the connectors don't charge. Either a lack of creativity on TT's part, or an effort to maximize sales, either case a customer disappointment.

pretty cool option coming from Dual Electronic... ya the "walmart brand" electronics people....

it's supposed to be released in a few weeks..... i've been waiting for it for a few months now so i can use my touch as a "stand alone" gps... i'll try to get a pic of it but here is the link... (gps & external battery all in one)

Dual AV Ipod Touch Cradle

looks like it uses the Gmaps GPS software but can use others (gmaps sucks IMO) but TOMTOM Navigon & Magellan will work with it....
great idea since i have a ipod touch laying around......
