I'm trying to figure this out:

Tony Levin wearing APMs in a live show? Best I can tell, he's wearing them over his in ear monitors so probably just using them for the active noise cancelation. Nobody would trust Bluetooth in a situation like that-- too unreliable and the latency is awful. I don't see anything plugged into the lightning audio port. I think he's just using them as baffles.

I agree that this is a bit odd.
In the shot from behind from 5:30 onwards, it is very clear that he is wearing in-ear monitors.

However, traditional in-ear monitors, when properly fitted, are quite isolating anyway so I find it very surprising that he might want to isolate external noise any more than that.
Unless he cannot use traditional IEM that fit inside the ear canal, but he prefers to use open-ear earbuds, in which case the APM ANC can be quite useful.

Yeah, there are plenty of clips from this tour where he isn't wearing them, and I'm not sure he wore them for all of this show. Maybe the venue acoustics were problematic, or being nestled so close to the elevated drum kit? Dunno.

By the way, nice to find someone with an interest in this phase of King Crimson’s music.
I remember going to a gig back in the days where KC was supporting Roxy Music and walking out during RM main act.
I had no idea some of them where still playing together.
I’ve also seen Levin play a few times with Peter Gabriel (also back in the days). He’s a good ‘un.

Yeah, Levin is a monster. This tour brought to my attention that he's now 78 years old. He started out playing in Igor Stravinsky's orchestra and his list of credits are with a who's who of top musicians.

I like most of Crimson's music, but the 80's stuff is probably my favorite. If they come through your area, the Beat shows are worth a seat. It's not KC, but every time I can see Belew or Levin play I'm game. Vai and Danny Carey fill their roles admirably.
