Looks stolen to me.

I always make big purchases ($100+) from retailers that are reputable and have some sort of return policy/guarantee. I would stick with buying from Apple on something this big...

Oh, dear...that's definitely too good to be true. Run away as fast as you can.

There is no reason for the seller to ask you to contact them via e-mail before bidding unless it's a hacked account and they're trying to prevent the owner of that account from finding out that their account has been hacked.

The guy has a handful of feedback from a year on eBay (all as a buyer, not a seller) and all of a sudden he's got ten computers up for bidding at ridiculous prices? Right.

but when i emailed him, he said first off that we will make the payment through paypal, so it will be secure, and than he also added that if its not exactly what its stated to be, the product can be returned for full refund.

At best, it's stolen.

At worst, he's working a way to get your information to scam you.

Edit: That e-mail address is also on a list of known eBay scammers. Do you need more convincing?

so i should buy it immediatly?;)

Yea, or you could just put the money in my bank account and get the result mailed to you......nothing, maybe a thank you note :)

It sounds too good to be true.

On the other hand if you can arrange a pickup of the MacBook this would change the story. Just make sure you bring a mate with you and don't have the cash with you. Keep it in the car with your mate and call them to come with the cash when you have the MacBook right there in front of you. Also, arrange for the pickup in a public place just for security.

After emailing the seller, the final price would equal 1000$USd for shipping and insurance included. I dont see how this can be possible. Does anyone have any ideas?
Since i live in the same country as the seller, does that mean i can infact claiim a fraudulant sale if infact it is too good to be true?

the item is listed as being in Montreal, United States?? I could have sworn that Montreal was in Canada??? LOL

usually when the instructions say to email the seller at a non-ebay address then it turns out to be a hijacked ebay account

you want to stay as far away from this one as possible

Don't even bother...it's not worth it. The chances of there actually being an item (and it not being stolen) are essentially nil. It's not worth your time or personal safety to even try to find out.

what happened was someone EBAY account was HIJACKED. that is why the "person" is asking bidders to email them first before bidding. I remember I ran into something like this before.

If you send the item number to ebay to determine if its really a discrepency (i'm almost positive it is) , the auction will shut down pretty quick after that.

Actually it probably won't...I've reported numerous hijacked accounts to eBay and it usually takes them days to shut down the auctions, if they get to them before they end.

Yes, or you can just send me the money and I'll do my best to put it to the same use they will.

Though I will likely skip spending the money on drugs so I will have more for alcohol, prostitutes, and porn. Or I'll just blow it all on gambling by buying some PowerBall tickets. ;)

I live in calgary, i dont remember stating otherwise?

He just meant that the scammer can't figure out what country Montreal is in...

Props to eBay for getting on it in a timely manner for once...those eBay Canada folks must have a lot more on the ball than their counterparts south of the border. :D
