I have just done a clean reinstall of Catalina and all seemed to have gone well; all software reinstalled.
As soon as I was happy with this, I was prompted to update to Big Sur which I have just done.
Again, all seemed very good>.
I have just notice that I now have THREE drives - MACINTOSH, MACINTOSH-DATA and MACINTOSH_DATA_data !

What can I do now to tidy up what seems to be a mess?
How will Carbon Copy Cloner possible be able to back up my system ?
Basically ... HELP !

Thanking anybody in advance ...

Those volumes are normal, except 2nd - Data.

CCC blog has a guide for what currently can be done - backup data, install Big Sur on backup. Anything that lets you do Migration.

Erasing and starting from scratch probably good idea.

Bonjour IowaLynn,
Thanks for the swift reply; last question - is it possible now to do a clean install of Big Sur in the same way I did it for Catalina? Rather download an "installbigsur" file onto a clef USB and continuer from that ?
Salut
Paul
