Too many notifications?

Anyone else experiencing an extreme annoyance with the notifications in 10.8?

It seems to come back on every 10 minutes or so notifying me of software updates. And yes, I probably should update, but it doesn't get the clue to just turn off after I've acknowledged it and swiped it away. It keeps coming back and back and back.

On another note, so does my Time Machine popup! I'm on an extended trip and it just keeps telling me multiple times a day that I haven't backed up...

Are these really features? Or is it just me and I need some troubleshooting?

Yea, I know about that... but I like my other notifications... It's really just that it comes too frequently... and most of the time it's software updates.

Then turn of Automatic Updates?

Your mac won't burst into flames just because you don't update right away.
