Too many redirects (on every Mac and iOS device) home network issue?

I am trying to access a popular web site and have been getting the "too many redirects" message and can not access the site.
I was using Safari on my Mac Mini. I also use ExpressVPN and tried turning that off. No Luck.
I then tried using another browser so I tried using Chrome and Firefox. Again, no luck. Too many redirects.

I thought I would try my iPad. No luck, too many redirects. Same thing happens with my iPhone. And on my Macbook Pro as well. Each time, "too many redirects.

I went to the web site on my PC at work. It works, no problem with access.
I also was able to gain access using my iPhone at work on their network

So there must be something with my home network. DNS addresses? I am using Open DNS on my Macbook Pro and something else on on the Mini. Something else?

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

The effects are not DNS specific as this happens on all web browsers in any location.

I think I am being blocked by a couple of web sites. I login and am told I am SPAM. Or I get "too many redirects" before I can even auto-join.
Both sites are forums and both require an account. I can start the website after deleting my cookies, caches, etc. and browse as a guest, but as soon as I enter my login I am shut out. Rinse, repeat. Same results.
This happens on any computer I use in any location or network. I think the admins have decided to block me as it happens while logging in.
I think I have some how sent these sites a bunch of spam (virus?) and they have now blocked my account.

A-What can I do to isolate this problem before other sites/accounts get "spammed" by me logging in and I get shut out? The first site (thought I was Spam) started about six weeks ago. The second site (too many redirects) started this week.

B-Can some virus/malware software fix this?

Unfortunately I may have to open new accounts on the two sites.

What answer did you get after you contacted the webmaster (or submitted a support request) for those two sites?

The first one never got back to me. The second left a VM for me and I will call back on Monday. The second is a paid site that runs out soon and I told them not to renew. I don't think they have a clue about the "too many redirects" issue. The second site rhymes with catch.

"Rhymes with catch" is meaningless to me. , but I have no interest in gaming (sorry!)

I know you said that you have tried to connect to your sites on other computers, and used other browsers.
Did you try the fix on this Apple support page?

Weird connection problems on specific sites might mean that you need to reconfigure an adblocker (if you use any, try turning your adblocker off on that site, just as test)

Do you get any reports of malware if you run a scan through Malwarebytes?

If none of that gets you any improvement, then it's probably not local to your computer, and is an account or website problem (and you would need help from support for the website)

Turning off Adblock was a good idea. I tried it to no avail. I am running BitDefender right now.
Since this is happening on various computers and iOS devices on different networks, and only when I log in, I have come to the conclusion that those websites have blackballed me for soem reason, especially the forum the site that literally said i was SPAM. The other site, Match.com - "rhymes with catch" ;-). sends out the too many redirects message after I log in.
So something happened on my end that is making those sites think I am a threat of some kind.
The forum site admin won't respond and Match.com is a hard nut to crack for chat support.
Sigh. Not sure what to do. (And I was having a very nice conversation with someone on Match!)

I don't particularly trust Bitdefender (reasons are not relevant to this discussion) - but that should at least give you an all-clear. But, also try a scan from Malwarebytes (you don't have to pay for it just to scan your system.)
Did you try that fix for re-directs that I linked from Apple's support pages? That might help at least get Safari working.

You might also try logging OUT of any Google account that you might have.

Yes, I tried that link from Apple and it did indeed delete the cache, cookies, etc. I was able to then actually open the match.com website and look around. But as soon as I entered my login ID and password it went to "too many misdirects". So it is definitely something to do with my account (same with the other forum account).
Saw that second article somehwere too. I already had that cross site tracking box un-checked.

Now my normal facebook account works fine, once i use my other account that is a facebook business account it tries to go to the business/dashboard and that is when the redirecting starts.

i am unsure what to do because i have two other windows 10 pcs with chrome and connected to the same network and they work just fine its just the mac

Disabling, extensions, ad blockers, etc., even AV makes sense...if only on a specific browser or device. The fact that you get this on multiple devices makes me think it must be:

• An issue with the router/modem/ISP settings or config.
• Something else going on your network...like these developer issues.

I would consider a shutdown/reboot of the router and modem, and look at what else can be done to clear cache or otherwise reset them. And yes, as mentioned, I would reset the DNS and go with Cloudflare: 1.1.1.1 (on the router) and delete the manually set DNS on the devices (to clear it).

The fact that some devices are working...complicates things. Maybe...(long shot) it might be DNS Poisoning or perhaps a host file issue. More info here.

I have seen...years ago, an infected Mac that would do very strange DNS things. It was a combination of DNS poisoning a hosted/corrupted host file. Solved that, all was good. Some sort of drive-by install. This sounds a bit similar, though on more than one device. And...I am not sure what one would do with iOS.

Sounds like a redirect, very typical from some kind of adware. Did you also try a Malwarebytes scan?

Isn't this the issue where disabling cross-site tracking prevention from Safari preferences fixes it? I've had this problem before and I think that was the solution.

While I agree...MalwareBytes won't fix DNS or host file cofig issues. Even if caused by malware.

AdGuard Pro. I use it on Windows, Android and Apple devices.
They have free AdGuard DNS.
They are now testing DoQ - DNS over QUIC.
DNSSEC - verify the authenticity of the stored DNS records. Protection against attacks on DNS.
Ideally I'd set it up and configure my router.

That’s why I have for years used OpenDNS.com to block know Trojan hosting sites powered by users admissions at PhishTank.com. It always go into my router!
