So I thought it was okay to update my "unlocked" 1.1.1 to 1.1.2 and jailbreak by installing Oktoprep via installer.app prior to the update. I've read almost every blog post online 3 days ago making sure it was okay so I did the update last night...updated iTunes to 7.5 on my mac and iPhone to 1.1.2. To my horror, after the update, my iPhone was locked again. I later realised the Oktoprep and latest jailbreak for 1.1.2 only works for "non-unlocked" phones running on AT&T. I don't recall this was ever mentioned prior to 3 days ago.
So now I have a locked 1.1.2 iPhone in my hands which is pretty much useless at the current state for where I live (outside of US). Again, there are many sources/blogs with different instructions on how to downgrade from 1.1.2 to 1.1.1 and some even mentioned down to 1.0.2 then back up to 1.1.1.
Does anyone know the simplest, and free way to downgrade my iPhone to the original 1.1.1 that it came in, so I can unlock it to use my sim card and jailbreak it from my mac? Do I need to downgrade my iTunes to 7.4? Reading many sources have left me clueless. Thanks in advance!
