Is anyone else annoyed that you have to push up, then hold, then close? Why so many steps?

It would be nice to be able to just flick up, and flick away to close apps.

On iPhone X, you just swipe up from the bottom of the screen to close an app. On all other iOS devices you just press the home button. It couldn't be any simpler.

I think OP means to really close the app from the task switcher. Which, on the other hand, is not necessary barring a few exceptions (and even then it's more of a matter of preference).

But in my opinion the steps needed aren't really that excessive to begin with if you're not doing it all the time. That's just me, though.

Yep, hated it since the beginning. Half the apps out there want to activate gps and drain the battery.

Manually closing an app is useless 99.999% of the times.

iOS managing background activity very well, so yes you dont need to close apps, but i dont like having more then 4-5 apps in the background (the ones im using on a daily basis) because it's getting messy… so i got used to close apps after finish using them.

As for apps that using your location\GPS in the background and draining your battery, you can change the location settings to 'while using the app' (this should help a bit)... or turn off the location service after you finish using these apps.
