I'd love to hear a little bit about what tools/techniques you used besides stop motion, e.g. for lip movement and the various special effects (clouds, explosions).

BeechFlyer : I use Adobe premiere pro and After effects. For lip movements I make multiple copies (usually 3) of one pic and edit them in photoshop to make different mouth position. Then I send them to Premiere pro and try to match the edited mouth positions to the audio.

I guess thats was smart and the result is very nice!
