I brought my iPad to Apple yesterday, because of my volume up button only working when you press it really hard. The genius took one look at it and said they will get me a replacement. He said they did not have any… So they will have to order me one. It should take about five business days. He also mentioned that they are going to send my unit to an engineering team to take it apart and possibly diagnose if there were any manufacturing issues. For future quality control. I did compare my volume up button to the units in store, and they were much more clicky… My button was sort of spongy in comparison. I was surprised they did not have any replacement units in store. I will keep you guys posted when it comes in.

Just keeping people who want to know, informed. I was curious if anyone else had the same issue or a similar experience at the Apple Store with their 10.5

Actually, you're not the only one with this issue. I did read on the iPad forum (I don't know where) some other forum members were having issues with the volume button sticking or stiff to push. Good that Apple
Acknowledged the issue.

The volume up/down buttons should definitely have a solid click. You did the right thing in brining it back, glad they are taking care of you. It's a shame they did not have one on hand to exchange, but you will be happier in the long run.

My 10.5 iPad Pro has this same issue. I took it to the Apple Store today and they are ordering me a replacement. Glad I’m not the only one that had this issue.

However, my screen was perfect. So I’m kinda nervous the new iPad will have the button fixed, but a poorer screen.

Yeah, some have reported their volume up/down button being stiff to push and I have read others that claims theirs is loose and spongy feeling. It should have a nice solid "click" feel to it, but be neither stiff or spongy.
