Anyone Notice that Dell now has a BTO option for the new Toshiba 320gb 5200RPM notebook drive? I have done some searching, and can't find anything from newegg or tigerdirect. Since the hard drive options are the only thing holding me back from buying a Macbook Pro right now, does anyone know when OEM drives usually come to market on the web? Thanks ;)

Well you wouldn't want that drive anyway since I have heard that it is not 9.5mm tall, it is taller. And the MacBook and MacBook Pros require a 9.5mm drive, nothing taller.

I have heard that a new 300 or 350GB drive that is 9.5mm coming out in the next month or so, you may want to wait for that.

Thank you! I wasn't aware of the increases thickness.

I believe the 320GB 5.4k rpm Samsung laptop drive being used in the 15.4 & 17in Alienware laptops is standard 9.5mm. They should be coming to retail soon (how many months, couldn't say).

Edit: also I believe the Toshiba's are likewise 9.5mm, just take look at the PR from Toshiba (which says mass production in November):

According to that link, the 320GB drive is a 2 platter 4 head design, as such it would not need to be any thicker than standard 9.5mm, AFAIK.
