Has anyone ran out of space using optimized storage on their iPhone? I have a 128gb phone but I only have about 10k photos and 200 videos in iCloud Library. I have 30k more photos and 1500 videos outside of iCloud Library that I was considering loading so that they're all together in Photos on my Mac which is set to download originals but I'm wondering if the optimized storage on my iPhone is going to be able to handle that.

That’s a lot more than mine. At present I’m on a 64GB iPhone with optimised storage turned on and I’ve go about 6500 pictures in my library.

Tanagra (not really)
It all depends on if your iCloud storage tier can handle it. To give you an idea, I have about 20GB of pictures and videos in Photos and the 50GB iCloud tier, but I could access all of it on a 16GB iPhone 6S. Optimized storage means the phone stores the content at a reduced size, or, in the case of videos, possibly entirely in iCloud until you try to access it. Basically, this setting depends on your internet connection to work, but as long you have one, you can access your entire library.

Yeah, I'm mainly curious how much space the thumbnails take up on an iPhone using optimized storage. The real copies take up about 500gb (of the 2tb iCloud plan) which isn't really important, but optimized storage still has to show 40k+ optimized photo thumbnails on my phone. That seems like a lot. But maybe it isn't. The problem is I won't really know until I try it. :)
[doublepost=1555792358][/doublepost]A poster in this thread says that 120gb real photo/video storage is taking up about 2.1gb optimized. If true it seems like I could expect about 10gb optimized which would be great.
