Keep seeing adverts for this - is it something ALL computers should be using or are our Macs better protected than PCs?

I run Onyx and Malwarebytes every week. Is this enough??

Mac security is so easy, even a caveman can do it. ;)

Your routine is more than enough. Really no reason to run those unless you notice a problem.

Yes! Also consider using Duck Duck Go instead of Google and use a configuration for your primary DNS like from OpenDNS to block known Trojan Hosting web sites and put those DNS IPs in your wireless router instead of your Mac (Unless you plan to travel with a laptop). Lastly try to stay away of sketchy web ware sites and p0rn sites, most Trojans c9me from those kinds of web sites!

Thanks for that satcomer - at 81 not sure what it's all about though:rolleyes:

Not aware I've ever had a virus, I understand that Mac's are less likely to attract them than a PC.

Well, if you mean that Macs are less plentiful, thus not worth it for the bad guys, that's the oft-repeated "market share" theory, which is false propaganda. Many people believe this, and so they keep it alive by repeating it, without proof of course because it can't be proven. Macs have not attracted viruses since the release of OSX because they are more secure.

No, that is not what I meant. I understand that the Mac OS is much harder to penetrate (for want of a better word) than PCs. I'm probably wrong but I do know that before, when using PCs for many years, they were continuing rally infested. Since going to Mac, so far (touching wood) never.

You are correct. The macOS is more secure than Windows. Macs do get malware, but no true virus has ever infected OSX. But, we haven't had a virus on our Windows computers at work in 5 years or more. Maybe that's because there have been few new ones prowling about.

Yes, enough.
That's all you need.

Seems you do need one thing: AdGusrd Pro or 1Blocker. Also limit 3rd party cookies and trackers.

filtering at http level before it gets to your browser and blocks ads, adds security.
