Hello All,
I have recently purchased some photos we had taken at a resort in Mexico. The pictures came across as a TAR file and when I click on them to open them up it just makes a duplicate file. I only purchased 6 photos and now I have over 18 TAR files. They are multiplying like rabbits and no photos in sight. HELP!!!!

Open up a terminal, change directories to where the tar file is, and type:
tar xf tarfilename

If the tar file name has a z in the end, like .tgz or .gz, then use:
tar xzf tarfilename
