I received a MacBook Air yesterday and my kid was messing around with the Touch ID button. I thought you could not press this down like an actual button but now it presses down just like the rest of the keys. Is this normal or has my kid messed it up? Thanks

no, it's also a power switch, it can be pressed alright, you're fine.

Yes, you can press it down. You can press it to power down the machine.

It'd be interesting to find out if it has other functions.

OK thanks guys, at least my machine didn't get messed up on the first day I received it haha! The joys of having a 6 year old!
