My kid cracked the Touch ID button on her iPad Air 4. Due to this it won’t read her find and the button hardly powers on/off the device now. She has to tap screen and use code.
Any idea what this going to cost me to have fixed?

It’s still usable without the button, at least. Turn on tap to wake if it’s not already on, you can power down from settings when needed, and power on by plugging in the charge cable.

Edit. She’s already tapping the screen so never mind.

Take it into an Apple Store and they’ll give you a free repair quote. I suspect it’ll be more than you want to spend, but no harm getting it looked at.

I wouldn't be surprised if the "repair" will be 70% the cost of a new one, and they hand you a refurb replacement.
But I'm only guessing, I have no real knowledge. Let us know if you find out

In the US, $419 out of warranty or $49 with AppleCare+.

Just let her use the passcode unless you’re willing to buy her a new iPad.

You can at least get the power button replaced. The part is only $20 and a third party shop can do it.

However, Touch ID feature needs an Apple official repair which is $400. Obviously not worth it.

$400….OUCH! Definitely not worth that. Only issue is she cannot verify purchases with the iPad. Do I turn the verify purchase with Touch ID option off in settings?

Yes. Settings, Touch ID. I would go ahead and turn off all four toggles, eliminating Touch ID.

It can’t even be repaired by Apple, they just replace it with a new one.
