Touch ID issues

I hadn't been having great success using Touch ID but noticed soon after updating to Ventura that it was working flawlessly so I thought maybe something had been changed. Now all of a sudden it's temperamental again. The sensor is clean.

My question is why it's not letting me have more than one attempt to use it. It says Use Touch ID or Enter Password but if Touch fails just once it forces me to enter the password, unlike how it always worked in the past. I didn't find anything in the settings that might control this.

I been using the Touch ID with no problem sense the last versions of Mac OS on my Mac Book Air M1! To me it's been a God send when surfing on the Internet!

I decided to try a reboot and that seems to have fixed the problem, after re-acquiring the fingerprint in a couple of accounts. At least now it doesn't limit me to one try.
