Am I the only one that is finding, Touch ID is no longer working with me repeatably washing hands in preventative measure against COVID-19? It is not the device, as I have two iPads that I can no longer open or authenticate with touch.

Pleased my iPhone and iPad Pro both have Face ID, although of course that also does not work when wearing mask in the supermarket!

Try not to wash your hands as often as you currently are. From there, see if Touch ID gets any better.

One interesting thing I noticed with regards to Covid 19 is touch id still works with your gloves on but not all the time. Somehow when you press your thumb against the touch id button, the impression made by the ridges of your thumb makes it through the rubber glove. The rubber glove is acting like a mold.

Only issue I've ever had is with wet fingers.

Once dry, no matter how many times I've washed, Touch Id works perfectly both on my 7+ and iPad Pro 9.7" first gen.

If this is a big issue you can get a capacitive stylus or a gloves that work with the display. I get the same issue in the winter when my hands are dry.
