I hear the computer industry is moving towards "touch screen" technology as well. IPod, IPad, HP Touch screen on their newly introduced "all-in-one" systems are just a few examples of leading edge touch screen devices. Some folks feel touch screen will replace the keyboard / mouse, and other folks feel the touch screen will be an "alternate" input device. For me, I view touch screen as an "alternate" input method. And like any tool, it must be used properly (to fully enjoy it).
For me, I'm looking forward to touch screen technology in the general public computers. Not as a primary input device but as an alternate input control method. Touch screen would be great for teaching my disabled kid and allowing my other kids to perform free form art work as well. Just like "touch" controls is used on IPod and future IPad devices. And, large mouse PADs on some laptops (instead of traditional external mouse control devices).
In the future, I'm hoping "touch screen" on laptops and desktops will be "low cost" and it will be stable. It might take another 5-8 years for technology "maturity" on laptops / desktops. But when it does, I'm definately giving "touch screen" feature a hard and long look (for my family's needs).
Thanks for sharing your pictures. Cool stuff!!!
