Anyone suffering from this? Wanted to see if this was an OS issue with a select few or a hardware issue on my end.

Every so often, not really a set time, but my touch screen just loses all touch functionality. I can still use the home button to get back to the main screen. I can even use the home button to get into 'Spotlight' but the touch functionality of typing anything or selecting any icon just dies.

The only solution I have found is that I have to put it into a sleep mode and wake it back up.

I just want to see if this is a 3.0 issue or if it is my phone directly? Not sure if anyone is experiencing this.

Thanks!

It's happening to me too on a 3GS. I think it MIGHT be related to my Exchange account pushing lots of email to my Inbox via Activesync. The last row of apps (Settings, iTunes, App Store, Compass) become dead, although I can click on most of the rest, and if I search for the app name in Spotlight (Settings, for example) I can run it from there. Sleep/Wake sometimes fixes it, sometimes I have to do a soft reset. If I'm typing an email when this happens the keyboard goes crazy and the touchscreen just registers clicks on random places. Anybody else see that?

it happens to me to. i just hit the sleep button at the top of the phone. then hit the home button and unlock it and everything is back to normal. i hope that this is fixed with an upcoming update. it is annoying, but not that big of a deal.

on a side note, has anyone had applications take on a different picture then normal. example - i have the app titled "dots free" but it has the "pandora" icon slightly shaded. when i launch the dots app it launches fine, the icons are just incorrect.

thanks

I've had the exact same problem, and it's incredibly annoying. This is getting to the point where I'm just going to take it back to the store and get a replacement.

it means the page or app that is currently being run...is actually taking time to load or is in a freeze state

No.. that would be impossible because even in my own original post I said that the home screen is still frozen and that I can still open spotlight by hitting the home button.

If its loading something and freezing then it wouldn't just freeze the touch screen only..

I know this is an old thread but I wanted to see if any of the people that posted ever got this resolved.

Mine has started doing this randomly. I would take it to an Apple store, but 1) the closet one is 2 hours away and 2) I can't always replicate the problem. If I could replicate it, I would have no problem taking a drive.

All I have to do to fix it is to hit the Sleep button and then wake it back up. But I shouldn't have to.
