Yes, it's interesting and I'd welcome the idea but given Apple's history of patents, I wouldn't expect it.

Very interesting indeed... for all we know that hardware could already be in there, just waiting for 4.0 to activate it. One can hope...

If this isn't going to be in the product released in a few months, I might have to wait to buy my personal one until the first revision, which will likely include the camera as well.

Although, I will probably get the first one anyway so I can start developing for it, guess it will be the $499 wi-fi model.
