Got a nice little scratch on the side of my iPhone 7 Plus.

Black magic marker only temporarily covered it up, but eventually wore out.

Is there a brush-on paint for metallic surfaces that you would recommend?

Thank you in advance

I wonder if black nail polish would work? Whatever the case, you have my sympathy and respect for rocking the "Fabergé egg" of iPhone finishes. ;)

If you use touch up paint for your iPhone, it will hurt the value if you re-sell it. No one wants an iPhone with paint on it. If it scratches, so be it. Others may not mind the scratches versus paint. It's an iPhone, not a car.

Might be worth trying automotive touch up paint. It will have built-in clear coat and would be very durable.

This was the hot item back with the iPhone 5 and Scuffgate.

Birchwood Casey Super Black Touchup Pen. You can get one online for around $5-9. Keep in mind that it's actual PAINT, not ink or anything like that.

Thanks for the tips on the various paints. Not particularly worried about the resale value.

I can sell it on Gazelle, and I would only lose $50 for a touched-up painted iPhone.

I'm considering BW Casey Aluminum Black Touch-Up 3 oz for much the same purpose, as I learned the hard way that the finish on my 7 got trashed while inside a minimalist case (prefer not to say what brand, embarrassed enough as it is).

I have used this on black anodized aluminum parts in the past. Not sure how it will work on the iPhone, but worth a shot. The good thing, if it does work, is that it’s not paint and won’t just chip off or expand.
