Hey all,
I've searched the forums and have found similar posts, but none of the suggestions have helped me. Here's the background:
My touch (8G, 1st generation) battery had depleted to nothing. It wouldn't power on. I placed it on my Logitech speaker/dock overnight to charge it. When I docked it, I saw the red battery picture appear and didn't think anything of it, except that it was charging and would be ready in the morning. In the morning I grabbed it, not noticing whether or not it was fully charged. The first time that day I tried to use it, maybe an hour or so after taking it off the speaker/dock, it wouldn't power on. I've tried plugging it in with the USB cable to my laptop, to my desktop at home, and my desktop at work. Nothing happens. I've tried plugging it in with iTunes open, and with iTunes not open. With iTunes open, it does not recognize the iPod. I've tried resetting (holding the home and sleep buttons together for more than ten seconds), nothing happens. Of course, I've had it for just over a year so the warranty is up. I've never jailbreaked it. The only thing I can think of is I recently (probably the last time synching it before the battery ran out) upgraded the software version on it through iTunes to version 3.0, you know, the upgrade touch users had to pay for.
Thanks for any help.
