TouchID Unlock Issue

Hi there

I've just recently switched to the iPhone 8 Plus after being a big android fan/apple hater for the last 7 years and I'm absolutely loving it!

I have one question though: sometimes when I press the home button to unlock it, it won't go directly to the home screen and it will just say "Unlocked" at the top and I have to press the home button again which is quite annoying.

Can this be disabled?

Actually, I’m running into the same issue on an iPhone 7. It says unlocked, or it doesn’t register the first touch (I’m using raise to wake). I’ll have to rest my finger again to open the phone. I would have to say it’s a bug; however, I’ve reported this a few times throughout the beta cycles, and it hasn’t been addressed.

I agree, it is very annoying. Especially when you unlock your device so many times per day. I can tell you that this wasn’t an issue on 10.3.3 (the final iteration of the previous major build), so it seems to be an iOS 11 issue.

I may have just found some sort of solution to this (at least on ios 11.1): if you go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Home Button and enable "Rest Finger to Open" it goes directly to the home screen every single time for me.

Thanks for the update! That actually has been my preferred setting since the release of iOS 10. I've found that I unfortunately still run into issues fairly commonly with the unlocking response; however, 11.1 seems to have improved on them a bit.
