Tough little headphones...

I can officially declare, though I wouldn't recommend trying this at home, that the iPhone packaged headphones CAN and DO survive a full wash cycle, delicate setting in cold water using Kirkland brand detergent and an hour in the dryer on low heat. And boy, are they clean.

Forgot I put them in my pocket on the airplane and when i got home, just dropped the pants in the wash with all the laundry.

I have to agree as mine have been through both the washer and the dryer...twice.

yeah but try running or exercising with them and get the slightest bit of sweat and the little microphone/button shorts out. So far i have been running 4 times with my phone and had this happen every time. Give it time to dry out and it works again.
