I've been for 7 months for work and travel to New Zealand and it was really awesome. A lot of places looks really like pictures from LOTR, without photoshoping or special effects.
One of my specials highlight was Queenstown, it is amazing for party!

Las Vegas. I'm not a gambler but I love Vegas. The wife and I go at least once a year. We always go in the middle of summer when its a bazillion degrees... golf courses are empty which is nice (i love the heat so i always play midday when everyone else is finishing) and the wife gets to wear all the new bikinis she bought over the winter. plus we love to eat and there are so many good restaurants there.

Abismo Anhumas.
It's safe, it's a drop of 72 meters rappel to the base (you can't climb back with your hands, only with rope), then there exploration of underwater caves can be made, with proper equipament. The entrance is a hole in the ground.
