Hi everyone,

I am a big classical music fan, and was thrilled when I noticed that—in the Music app—a recent album I bought from the iTunes Store actually grouped tracks by piece.

So, rather than display the entire "Symphony No. yada yada..." title in front of each of the Roman numeral tracks (movements) of the full piece, it simply listed the work's title once, grouping all of its movements together under its umbrella title.

I did a little digging on iTunes, and found that "Symphony No. 6 in D Major, Op. 60, B. 112" was in the "grouping" field of those four tracks. I applied this logic to other multi-track works in other albums, and it worked... for one album.

However, try as I might, I am unable to get tracks to group similarly in other albums. Am I doing something wrong, or is this a glitch? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I am not sure and cannot test this on iTunes on PC but Mac OS X Sierra iTunes introduces a few changes specifically for classical music, including a specific "works" field.

I have a MacBook Pro. Interesting; I don't see a "works" field, but maybe I'm just missing it...

This field is currently only available in Mac OS X Sierra iTunes.
It looks like this:

Interestingly, the default field when editing songs without metadata is this field.

Interesting. I don't have Sierra yet, so that shouldn't really matter in this case. Just trying to figure out why some tracks group together when I apply text in the grouping field, and some don't.
