I rarely get a lot of packages at once so I typically just bookmark the tracking page in Safari and check them occasionally. I recently had about five packages coming and wanted something to keep tabs on them a little easier. I tried out some apps, but was a little disappointed.
  • First, I tried 'Route'. It couldn't get the details of my tracking numbers when I first tried it, but it seems to be working better today now that I try again. Not exactly a fan of the "shopping" feature of the app though. Plus, I'm pretty sure they'd be tracking me.
  • Then I tried 'Deliveries'. I see it won an "Editor's Choice" award, so it must be good, right? Well...I think they won that award before they switched to a subscription model. Can't even add a single tracking number without a subscription to try it out. Uninstalled. Not going to subscribe to something if I can't try it out first.
  • Finally, I tried 'Parcel'. Apparently this has a subscription model too, but at least I can add a few tracking numbers without a subscription to try it out. It seems to be working fine.
So for now, I think I'll just go back to Safari bookmarks to track my packages before committing to anything. What do you guys use to track multiple packages...an app, bookmarks, Notes, perhaps some sort of Shortcuts app? I guess my requirements are pretty basic...enter in tracking numbers manually (no hooking up to my email or shopping accounts). I don't mind paying a one-time fee for an app if needed; might consider one that has a subscription if I know it works well.

Parcel is my go-to app to track deliveries. For $4.99/year is not a bad deal for me as I have one place to track packages, but it’s not for everyone.

I skipped (almost) all the apps since so many of them want to read your email to auto add deliveries. Sign up for USPS Informed Delivery and get a FedEx Delivery Manager account and a UPS account and you can have text and email alerts for everything with zero apps needed. Only thing is Amazon sucks at sending SMS when requested, so you should have the Amazon app installed for their push notifications.

I use AfterShip (for DHL, FedEx and such) and a shipper app/widget here in NL (PostNL) but that only works for PostNL packages.

Another recommendation for Parcel. It’s one of the few subscriptions I’m willing to pay for, and is fairly priced. It’s efficient to have all couriers tracked in one place.
