Since installing Big Sur on my MacBook Pro 16", there are times where the trackpad clicks are not working, opening an email, starting or stopping YouTube video. Random but a couple of times a day.

I have similar, but much worse, issues with my new iMac and magic trackpad. It was working great, but after upgrading it now jumps all over the place, making almost impossible to use :(

@KosherKid, I'm having the same problem with a 2018 Mac mini and a first gen Magic Trackpad. It works okay for a while and then starts lagging and jumping. A reboot usually fixes it for a short time. I have found it also happens with a generic bluetooth mouse.

Bumping an old'ish thread after a search... The trackpad on my mid-2014 15" MBP has freaked out ever since updating to 11.2 (have also updated to supplemental 11.2.1 to no effect). Unresponsive; the curors will starts jumping around the screen with no input from me; won't accept gestures or clicks. After forced reboot, trackpad works for a few minutes, but inevitably freaks out again.

I ultimately ended up having to buy a cheap Logitech wireless (USB) mouse. If I try to use the trackpad, and unplug the mouse's USB receiver from my MBP, it'll work, again, for a few minutes, but then become unresponsive again, cursor will start jumping around the screen, but as soon as I plug in the mouse USB receiver, the cursor stops dead in its tracks, and accepts input from the mouse. 🤷‍♂️

I dunno... I know this is an old machine, but weird how it just started doing this immediately after updating to 11.2. ***I had ZERO issues when using 11.1 (I clean installed to 11.1 coming from Catalina, skipped 11.0)***

I'm having similar problems on my Mac Pro 6,1 and Magic Trackpad ever since I updated to MacOs 11.3 beta 3. It seems like something is blocking inputs every once in a while and everything slows down then picks up again like a minute later. Very frustrating!

Had this issue on my brand new MBP M1. First clicks wouldn’t register inside safari only. Closed and reopened safari. Worked again. Weird. Then later the cursor disappeared. It was still working but I couldn’t see it!! Rebooted and it was fixed. Later I couldn’t click anything on the dock and I couldn’t use cmd+tab to switch applications. I could use spotlight to open apps... but not using the dock. It didn’t even recognize my clicks. I used the keyboard only to open terminal and used killall Dock, and it resumed working as well as the app switcher. This all was day one. 🤦🏻‍♂️
Im not sure what is happening with Apple but I’m getting tired of paying Apple tax for QUALITY and not getting the QUALITY I’ve grown to love the last 15 years as an Apple user.
Im close to giving up on them.
