Hello all.

I've bought a MacBook Air M1 2020 in Nov 2023; currently up-to-date with Sonoma 14.2.1.

It came out as an extreme surprise to me when I found out the trackpad is unable to execute just one particular command, "switch between fullscreen apps".

All the other trackpad commands work perfectly-well except this one. In the past two days, I've tried:
  1. Re-assigning different triggers to this gesture,
  2. Re-assigning the four-finger swipe gesture (the gesture works fine for other commands),
  3. Assigning three-finger swipe gesture to the 'switch application' command (still doesn't work),
  4. Turning on and turning off the "Dock" and "Stage Manager" functions multiple times,
  5. Running Mac in Safe Mode,
  6. Re-installing MacOS.
Nothing helped.
Any further suggestions?

I've raised a ticket with Apple Care and am in talks with them already, however, they too are flabbergasted to learn this niche issue.

Any other users with the same issue? Kindly help.

Thank you.

Are you certain you use the feature as intended? If you have only a single Space (virtual desktop) and no applications full screened, the gesture is supposed to do nothing.
Here's a video of how it should work

I agree with the above. Chances are very good that you’re doing something wrong, but even that seems low probability. We could help you better if you showed us what you’re doing with a video that captures your trackpad swipe and the screen at the same time.
