Okay, so since upgrading to Yosemite, most of my trackpad Gestures on my Late 2013 Retina 15" MBP have stopped working. I'm not sure what to do...:(

have you at least tried to de-select then re-select your settings in the trackpad system preference pane?

or you could move

com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad.plist

from the user preferences folder to the desktop, logout-then back in (or reboot) and try changing the trackpad settings...

EDIT: changed the file, as suggested by dsemf, below)...

yeah i tried de-selecting and then re-selecting...that didn't work. Rebooted a couple of times and that didn't work either. I'll try moving that file though and see what happens.

i couldn't find that file...i found preferences.plist. I moved that to the desktop and tried changing the settings, still not working. The only gesture thats working is the one for the notification center.

hold the option key and click on the Go menu in the Finder.
go to your Library (this is your Users Library). go to the preferences folder,
find that file, move it to the desktop. reboot. see how things go...

you can also then go to the trackpad pane in system preferences, try making some changes there.

you have to do these things very precisely; i NEVER said to move 'some file called preferences.plist'; if you're not sure of something, ask again first..

always good to play it safe when doing OS-related things.

Actually, I think you want the com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad.plist file.

As above, don't move random files like that, you could quit easily cause other issues...

it didn't move; it just made a copy of itself when i "moved" it to the desktop.

you definitely REMOVED it from the preferences folder (and NOT just copied it, or made an alias)??

in which case, have you tried changing settings in the pref pane?

In the process of testing before my previous reply, I managed to break gestures.

To fix them, I first turned off all of the trackpad items (all 3 tabs) and closed System Preferences.

Then I turned on the ones I wanted in the Point & Click tab and closed System Preferences. Tested those and they worked.

Repeat for Scroll & Zoom and then More Gestures.

Everything works now.
