have you at least tried to de-select then re-select your settings in the trackpad system preference pane?
or you could move
com.apple.systempreferences.plist
from the user preferences folder to the desktop, logout-then back in (or reboot) and try changing the trackpad settings...

i couldn't find that file...i found preferences.plist. I moved that to the desktop and tried changing the settings, still not working. The only gesture thats working is the one for the notification center.

Actually, I think you want the com.apple.AppleMultitouchTrackpad.plist file.

As above, don't move random files like that, you could quit easily cause other issues...

it didn't move; it just made a copy of itself when i "moved" it to the desktop.

well i found the file..moved it to the desktop. Rebooted; still nothing. Gestures are not working.
