I moved away from the Citizens One program this year and put my new phone on the Apple Card instead. I'll be trading in my 12 Pro Max, but the back glass is broken, so I have a question.

In the Upgrade Program (Citizens One) if my trade-in was broken they just charged me for the AppleCare deductible ($99), but I don't see anything about that in the standard trade-in program. Will they do the same, or will I need to take my phone into an Apple store for repair prior to sending in?

Apologies if the question has been asked, I did sincerely google it and read related threads but have not been able to find a definitive answer.

Thanks all!

When my wife tried to trade her VZW phone last year, she had a deep enough scratch in the screen we had to do AC. Then when it was back, they just took it as the trade in, and gave her the 13PM.
