I've ordered the new Mac Mini and am trading in my current computer. The shipping for the new Mini is quoted as 3-4 weeks. Once I finalized the order, Apple informed me that I will be sent a box for my trade-in and that I need to send it back within 14 days.

For those with prior experience: will I be receiving this trade-in box in a few days and thus be left without a computer for a week, or will I receive the trade-in box at the same time I get the new Mini, allowing me to set it up and transfer data and programs before sending my current computer in to Apple?

In my experience the trade-in boxes arrive the day after the new product is scheduled to arrive.

I have no experience with the kind of long pre-order wait that you're facing, but it doesn't seem to make much sense to ship the trade-in box before the order-cancellation window has closed and the credit card is actually billed (credit card is authorized when you place the order, but shouldn't be charged until the product actually ships). It's not unusual for people facing a long pre-order delay to change their minds and cancel, so why send the trade-in box beforehand?
