Macbook Pro Late 2011 15”
2.2 i7 processor
512 SSD
16 RAM
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512MB
Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

FOR!

iMac 2011 27”
3.1 GHz i5 processor
4GB RAM
1 TB HD
Graphics: AMD Radeon HD 6970M 1024MB

I need some opinions on trading is it worth it? Thank you very much in advance!

Even with the slower processor in the MacBook, I don't think that trade is worth it. That said, if you got your hands on another SSD and 16GB of RAM to put in the iMac, then it would probably be worth the trade. Otherwise, that slow mechanical drive and small amount of RAM are going to be a serious bottleneck in the iMac.

Worth it for monetary or usage value?

MacTracker shows your MacBook Pro current monetary value to be $318.45, and the iMac at $356.50. Of course that will fluctuate with condition, location, etc. So really, the decision comes down to which one has the most usage value to you.

The iMac will definitely feel a lot slower. While the CPU is faster. It isn't a huge increase at about 35% single core and 15% mult-threaded. That 4GB RAM is a punishingly small amount the HDD will make it slow as molasses in January.

I wouldn't do it. If you want a bigger screen. Just get a cheapo 24" 1920x1080 IPS.

I wouldn't recommend it either based on my personal experience buying a used 2011 iMac. I didn't realize until later that the 2011 models had a GPU issue that rendered the machine unusable for me. I had a paperweight essentially after the GPU crapped out and I found out that the cost of trying to repair it wasn't worth it.

I'd say it's worth it, as long as you upgrade your RAM
4GB is worthless nowadays;

My 2010 MBP 15" has 4GB of RAM, & Firefox uses 5GB of RAM even with wifi off, & nothing open, etc...;
my 2010 laptop has the GPU crash (& so does the 2011's MBPs, which is about a $300 fix (last I heard))

but your basically trading for a bigger screen & slightly slower machine
