Traded my iphone in on Sunday, started the erase process in store and employee took it to the back. I got home and saw it was still on the find my iPhone app and iCloud, removed it from there and says device will be removed in 30 days which I'm assuming is because I have the theft and loss coverage. When I go to settings , Apple ID, it's still listed as one of my devices, when I click on it it shows me find my iPhone on, with the model, iOS, serial number and ime. It gives me the option to remove from account. Is this typically normal? Can't remember if I ever had it still displayed after a trade in. I'm wondering if it was properly erased before I left the store?

It’s been a few years, but when I went to the Apple Store store for a trade-in or repair, they had me turn off Find My. Do you know if they did this before erasing it? This disables activation lock. Perhaps it is possible that they didn’t do this before they erased it? Maybe this is not necessary anymore?

Also, if your personal data is on the device, I would’ve asked to watch it being erased. Apple Store employees are just people and they can do bad things like anyone can do. I’m not that trusting 😂
